Our Story

Alamere Spirits is an independent craft distillery in Marin County, California, founded by Susannah and Olivier Souvestre, longtime Marin restaurateurs who also own Suzette Café & Bistro, their French restaurant on the Sausalito waterfront.

For Olivier, distilling began long before Alamere. Growing up in France, he learned the craft alongside his grandfather—a tradition he now brings to California. At the heart of the distillery is a traditional copper alembic still imported from Bordeaux, France, where time-honored techniques meet thoughtfully sourced California ingredients.

The name comes from Alamere Falls, the rare tidefall in Marin County where a waterfall meets the Pacific. Fittingly, alamere is also an old spelling of “to the sea” in French—a connection between California and France that runs through everything we make.
